The Saints have granted Houston Texans quarterback Jerrod Johnson a second interview for its vacant offensive coordinator position, sources told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. Johnson was instrumental in the development of Texans rookie signal-caller CJ Stroud.
Under Johnson’s guidance, Stroud led an offense ranked eighth in passing, fifth in yards per pass, and 13th in points per game. Also, with Stroud under center, the Texans were able to win their first AFC South title since 2019. The second interview is scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 27. New Orleans will also meet with former Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Brian Johnson on Monday.
